New ASOS Mac "I know I caught your eye because you darling, you caught mine"

This is my latest (very cheeky) addition to my wardrobe. When unidays.com were running their 25% student discount off at ASOS last week I couldn't resist this beauty. I've been wanting a mac for ages but the ones I had seen in the shops weren't quite what I was after.

Hopefully I look a bit more professional in this than my trusty Barbour! I'll be using this as my smart coat now (whilst pretending that I'm Audrey Hepburn in her famous mac). If your after a Mac too I'd really recommend this one- great quality, and a nice tailored fit.

ROMA! Part 2

I can't believe that this time last week I was enjoying my second day in Rome exploring the Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain- and now I'm back to writing my dissertation and worrying about the laundry...I already want to go back! The weather was certainly a lot better on this day than it had been the previous day which was why we left the more outdoorsy sights to the second day. This was taken by Trevi Fountain and was actually where we ended the day of sightseeing. Do we look exhausted? We were feeling the strain by this point of 2 full days of walking everywhere on cobbles and in desperate need of Gelato...

I couldn't believe how small the Piazza is that the Trevi Fountain is in- really tucked away. It was buzzing with tourists all patiently waiting to throw their penny over their shoulder into the fountain with the hope that it will bring them back to Rome.

 (little fact for you- the money that is thrown into the Trevi Fountain every day is around 3,000 euros and at the end of every day it is collected from the bottom of the fountain and given to local charities.)

 Our well deserved cheeky lunch that day aka CARBOCIDE... bruschetta, chips and the most amazing spaghetti carbonara ever, I've never tasted anything so good

The girls and I at dinner that evening in our favourite Pizzeria which was just around the corner from our hotel, you could tell it was a bit of a hidden gem as the prices were really reasonable AND locals were eating in there.

So there you have it! My little adventure to Rome summarised in 2 posts- I hope you've enjoyed them. We had such a laugh exploring the Eternal City...we must have looked like serious nerds getting so excited by the ruins but we didn't care. Plus getting into the Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum for free were definite bonuses- perks of the degree.

 I love seeing people's travel posts of where they have been and if you are thinking about going to Rome- DO IT! I can't believe I got to almost 21 without even going...I'll definitely be returning

My dream Christmas party outfit

Apologies for my lack of blogging over the past few weeks. Uni work has just had to take priority. I thought I would begin my return with a dream Christmas party wishlist I've collated. I've absolutely fallen head over heels in love with this dress by Miss Selfridge isn't it gorgeous.

The main inspiration for the outfit came from this Cinderela B 'Bea Bee Bracelet' which is a bargain at £20 I chose it in the gold plated version as the other items I chose fitted in with the colour scheme a bit more. They also do a necklace version of the bee too. Having the nails and heels (ASOS) matching with a rich burgundy I chose to keep the other colours more understated! I've got the Chloe fragrance on my Christmas list.

What do you think of my dream outfit for the Christmas party season? I reckon this teamed with a leather jacket would look brilliant! I've got a few posts lined up for the next week so keep your eyes out.

Twist On The Trend

This is a bit of a different post to usual but something I'm really excited about. Earlier in the week Jess and Paloma from 'Cos it's the Bee's Knees contacted me and asked if I would be interested in being a part of a new blogger group in which we would each do our own take on a current trend and showcase them all together collectively on all of our blogs. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and the girls quickly told me that the first trend for me to do my take on would be 'berry shades' which cover burgundy, red. purple, pink and everything in-between.

Doesn't everyone look fab! It's really inspirational to see everyone wearing all different items that fit into the berry shades trend to suit all different levels of how smart/casual you want to be. This is going to be a fortnightly feature on all of our blogs so stay tuned to see more twists, it's also a really good opportunity to discover new bloggers that you wouldn't have found otherwise.

So, onto my outfit, I decided to use my trusty burgundy jeans from Miss Selfridge for this trend, they are really versatile. This H+M shirt is lovely and silky and contrasts with the deeper berry shade of the jeans quite well, It's always important to style your accessories/make-up around a trend too, so I painted my nails with my favourite shade for Autumn and a spot of Korres lip butter which is a lovely deep pink.

It's been a busy old week my end, moving into my new student house and getting unpacked + settled. Of course there has been time for a spot of shopping though, picked up this fluffy pink sweater yesterday in H+M, it's 40% angora so seriously soft and snuggly- ready for winter. Couldn't resist the peachy/salmon shade- hopefully will add a bit of colour to my winter wardrobe.The antics of my last freshers week begin tomorrow before it's time to get stuck into my dissertation (10,000 words eeek!). Anyone else excited about Strictly starting tomorrow?!

Got my eyes on a few new make-up bits so stay tuned over the weekend for a beauty haul!

France Part 1: The Outfits

Hi everyone! I'm back after my holiday to France. We stayed in the Aveyron region which is in the South/West. I had a lovely time, it was so nice soaking up a different culture and spending some time away from the usual day to day things! I thought that I would split it into two different posts rather than do one really long one- an outfit one which this one will be and the other will be places I visited and some of the nice photos I took.

After arriving on the first day to a sweltering 38 degrees the temperature never really went below 32 degrees every day so it was pretty hot! It was great to finally get my summer clothes out as there haven't been many opportunities in England this summer.

I had been lusting over this dress for weeks (and even featured it in a post of things I wanted!) so finally treated myself to it. It's difficult to tell from this picture but it has tiny sequins on the upper part that make up little daisys- VERY girly!!

I'd originally planned on teaming this outfit with a cardigan but I definitely didn't need it! This was perfect for exploring picturesque French villages.

I actually bought this playsuit last summer and....it's from the kids department in New Look! Amazingly it fits (think they are pretty generous with their sizing!!) it's lovely and floaty though which was ideal for keeping me cool in the sun.

Another outfit featuring my very useful hat! The shoes I had to get whilst we were there as I hadn't taken any 'sensible' shoes and I'd under-estimated how hilly France was!

£100 ASOS challenge!

After seeing lots of everyone else's posts about a £100 blogger challenge on ASOS and being inspired by lots of lovely looks that some of you made so I thought I would collate my own 'dream' outfit with an imaginary £100.

I have been lusting over this dress for the past week so it HAD to be at the center of the whole outfit. At £45 it eats into the £100 quite a lot but it's so lovely I just can resist it. The daisy's at the top half of the dress are made out of tiny little sequins..dreamy!!

As the dress is so pretty and quite simplistic I didn't want to ruin it with excessive accessories or bright shoes etc so I thought these pretty ballet flats were perfect as they are dainty and suit the dress.

Next I found the watch and the bag. I love the brown leather strap on the watch and the musical notes make a great background to the watch-hands. As the funds were quite low by the time I came to find a bag a little shopper had to do, this still suits the outfit as quite a relaxed (I think it would be perfect for a day sight-seeing/exploring a city).

So did I keep it under £100?

Dress: £45

Watch: £20

Bag: £12

Total: £97 !!

Leaving the grand total of £3 change, just enough to buy this months issue of Company and a choccy bar.

This has been such a crazy week so excuse me for my blogging absence! But in-between my work experience, getting my second year uni results (woohoo 2:1) and waitressing I managed to slip in a cheeky bit of internet shopping in and to my excitement saw that ASOS are having a sale at the moment.

I snapped up these jeans from their sale (for a bargain of £15) with such a cute green flower print (a nice toe-dip into the printed trouser trend I thought!) due to the boldness of the print they only need to be teamed with a plain top.

Normally I am completely useless at online sales, by the time I decide on something I like it will of sold out in my size so I was very happy to get my hands on such a bargain that I couldn't wait to wear. Also this is probably one of the very few times you will see me with my hair tied up!
