"If this is love, then love is easy"

Jumper: Woolovers
Scarf: Vintage
Jeans: Miss Selfridge
Pumps: Primark

Incessant rain forced this photo of my outfit of the day to be taken indoors- lack of sunshine and lots of rain makes it look a bit gloomy! Now we are in late November I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you all my staple winter jumper- this cream cable knit woolly jumper I got last Christmas. I saw it when I was browsing through my Gran's mail order catalogue from the company 'Woolovers' (crazy word pun fun: wool-lovers or wool-overs?! You decide!) and decided this was far too cosy looking to ignore. So thats the back-story to this jumper. I teamed it with my burgundy jeans, my vintage scarf and pumps.

Spent this morning cosied up in Starbucks avoiding the rain and other soggy shoppers. The Canterbury Starbucks is right next to the cathedral and hosts some cosy corners. Reiss and I nabbed one of the best tables which looks out to the Cathedral. So happy to see the return of the red cups in there marking the beginning of the festive season. We actually get to graduate in the cathedral next summer so thats pretty exciting- it is stunning inside!

How have you spent your Saturday? Do you have a go-to winter jumper for rainy days like this?

My dream Christmas party outfit

My dream Christmas party outfit

Apologies for my lack of blogging over the past few weeks. Uni work has just had to take priority. I thought I would begin my return with a dream Christmas party wishlist I've collated. I've absolutely fallen head over heels in love with this dress by Miss Selfridge isn't it gorgeous.

The main inspiration for the outfit came from this Cinderela B 'Bea Bee Bracelet' which is a bargain at £20 I chose it in the gold plated version as the other items I chose fitted in with the colour scheme a bit more. They also do a necklace version of the bee too. Having the nails and heels (ASOS) matching with a rich burgundy I chose to keep the other colours more understated! I've got the Chloe fragrance on my Christmas list.

What do you think of my dream outfit for the Christmas party season? I reckon this teamed with a leather jacket would look brilliant! I've got a few posts lined up for the next week so keep your eyes out.

Twist On The Trend

This is a bit of a different post to usual but something I'm really excited about. Earlier in the week Jess and Paloma from 'Cos it's the Bee's Knees contacted me and asked if I would be interested in being a part of a new blogger group in which we would each do our own take on a current trend and showcase them all together collectively on all of our blogs. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and the girls quickly told me that the first trend for me to do my take on would be 'berry shades' which cover burgundy, red. purple, pink and everything in-between.

The 'Twist On The Trend' group:

Top Row: Lizzie from The Dust on The Ground, Yours truly, Jane from The Tale of Two Buttons and Emily from The Tale of Two Buttons

BERRY SHADES

Bottom Row: Paloma from 'Cos it's the Bee's Knees, Jess from 'Cos it's the Bee's Knees and Bree from The Urban Umbrella

Doesn't everyone look fab! It's really inspirational to see everyone wearing all different items that fit into the berry shades trend to suit all different levels of how smart/casual you want to be. This is going to be a fortnightly feature on all of our blogs so stay tuned to see more twists, it's also a really good opportunity to discover new bloggers that you wouldn't have found otherwise.

So, onto my outfit, I decided to use my trusty burgundy jeans from Miss Selfridge for this trend, they are really versatile. This H+M shirt is lovely and silky and contrasts with the deeper berry shade of the jeans quite well, It's always important to style your accessories/make-up around a trend too, so I painted my nails with my favourite shade for Autumn and a spot of Korres lip butter which is a lovely deep pink.

My early Autumn wishlist

With the summer starting to draw to an end (sob sob) it's time to start thinking about what we are all going to be wearing in the next few months. I'm still determined to keep wearing my summer clothes for as long as I can but I discovered the website USC recently that sell a variety of brands- some I'd heard of before and others were new to me. As I clicked around the website I started to note some of their clothes I really liked that would be useful for between summer and autumn. So I've teamed some of my favourites off of their womens clothes section with some others on my wishlist!

1) Yumi Pussybow Blouse £16. This shirt is gorgeous AND a bargain! I love the pussybow detail and the gathering at the end of the 3/4 length sleeves. I chose this because it would go perfectly with jeans, leggings or shorts!

2) River Island Tube Pants £30. To the un-trained eye these look identical to the AA Disco Pants that are really popular at the moment, however these are a fraction of the price and look just as nice. What I like about the idea of Disco/Tube pants is their material being slightly thicker than leggings and also the tightness. I'm hoping to grab myself a pair to team with my blouses and tee's over the colder months.

3) Lovestruck Bird Print Dress £35. I really like this dress and think it would be really versatile to either dress down in the day teaming it with tights and pumps and a cardie or glam it up with bare legs and heels to hit the clubs. The waist is cinched in which would be flattering and the material is arranged in a 'waterfall' of different lengths.

4) Abandon Jacques Dandy Shoes £12. Despite the rather odd name these shoes have been given they are really nice and are somewhere between a loafer and a slipper! Also a complete bargain for £12 I thought. Lots of people like the studded shoe look and these definitely have the potential for a D.I.Y  project to add some studs yourself.

5) Louche Cat Jumper £49. Slightly quirky....but who can resist a cat with glasses and a bow?! The red background contrasts really well with the pattern. Think this jumper would go great with the RI Tube Pants.

6) Casio Retro Watch £40. I've become quite fond of looking at watches, I think they make a nice (useful) accessory. I love the one I currently have (which you can see in an old post I did by clicking here) but this is timeless (no pun intended haha).

7) Miss Selfridge Black Seam Biker Jacket £52. I've never had a leather biker jacket before but I think this may be the year that I finally invest in one. I'm becoming fonder of the 'edgier' look and think this would contrast really well against my delicate softer tops.

So there you have it my little wishlist.  What is your favourite of my picks?
What is on your list to get for the Autumn?

Something new....

Jeans: Miss Selfridge, Shoes: Toms, Cardigan: Primark, Body: H+M

After taking this outfit photo last Thursday before going to see 'Magic Mike' at the cinema I completely forgot to post it before heading to London for the weekend....excuse the lateness! I wore a pretty comfy/laid-back outfit with a bit of a cheeky clash of the purple cardigan and my trusty high-waisted burgundy jeans.

Magic Mike was pretty good, it was slightly grittier than me and my friend had been expecting as it dealt with the darker and vicious cycle of male stripping, don't worry I won't spoil the plot if your thinking of going to see it.

For regular readers of my blog you might have noticed that I have a new header now, this is thanks to the lovely Gillian over at Elevatormusik who does blog re-vamps/customisations. What with being pretty busy and now being on work experience for the week I haven't really had a minute nor the patience to do one myself so she managed to create exactly what I was looking for!

Have any of you been to see Magic Mike?
